Happy Halloween!

I asked Anastasia what Halloween meant, and she thought for a minute, and responded, "Candies, chocolate, trick or treating! I like trick or treating momma!"

Each time Halloween approaches, I think about my first date with David; a haunted mill, corn maze and hot chocolate. From that first night, all this was created. To fast forward slightly, this is Erelands first Halloween, and as such I wanted to celebrate! Hhowever with each good intention, all I managed to accomplish was a few spoon "whitchies", paper chains, a movie quilt, and carving pumpkins. Somehow it doesn't quite seem enough.

One item that fell by the way side was in the costume department. The theme for this year was..... modify!
Step 1: take one Little Bo Peep costume from last year (submitted by one wonderful grandma).
Step 2: add one red cape and poof! Little Red!
Moms are so magic!
I thought that I would make Ereland the big bad wolf, but i guess that will have to wait until next year. Hmmm.... can you make Little Red into Goldilocks? Better start sewing now.

Anastasia is at this fun stage, where she is talking in complete thoughts, and is really funny when you listen. She just found out today that if she moves a chair around with her, she can reach new heights, and even can climb on top of the counters. Oh goodie. As a result her new favorite food is garlic salt from the spice rack. I guess I wont have to worry about vampires tonight. And on a midnight run last night to the grocery store for candles (for the jack-o-lanterns) David took her by the Halloween isle complete with life size mummies. She responded, "Lets go daddy, it scares me!" And after we finished carving the pumpkins, Anastasia told Baby Ereland, "Look baby, my pumpkin is pretty neat!" I already can't wait for Christmas.
Wishing everyone a fun safe Halloween!
